In between road tripping the stunning Coral Coast, running the inaugural Best Accessible Bathroom Awards, taking a mother-daughter trip to Japan, and the usual day-to-day craziness of the Jones household, I’ve been working hard with the Travel Without Limits team to bring the Autumn/Winter 2025 issue to life!
Publishing Australia’s first (and only!) disability-specific magazine is a huge job: gathering stories from people with lived experience of travelling with a disability, assembling them into a magazine, sourcing images, fact checking, proof reading, proof reading again… And yet, every time I see the finished product, it all feels worth it.
This new issue is going to be sent off to the printer soon, but I just couldn’t wait to give you all a sneak peek at what’s coming. And if you subscribe right now, we’ll be able to squeeze you onto the mailing list so you can get the new issue hot off the presses!

Welcome to Washington, DC
I’ve sung the praises of Washington, DC as an accessible and affordable destination for travellers with disabilities for a while now. In this issue of Travel Without Limits, we’re partnering with Destination DC to bring you a guide to the best the U.S. capital has to offer. World-famous attractions, wheelable neighbourhoods, remarkable restaurants, and amazing accessible accommodation – Washington, DC has it all!
Wonderful Western Australia
Of course, I couldn’t resist the opportunity revisit our fantastic WA adventure in the next issue. Readers will get a run-down of our itinerary, and all the wonderful places to stay and play in the west. Spoiler: it’s surprisingly accessible, especially the spectacular beaches!
Exploring Europe by train
Reader favourite Marlena Katene returns in the next issue of Travel Without Limits to explain how she explored Europe as a power wheelchair user on the Eurail network. She’s got lots of hot tips and tricks for planning your own rail journey, and a deep-dive into her adventures into one of her favourite cities: Venice.
Klimbing Australia’s highest peak
Have you heard of the Krazy Kosci Klimb? It’s an annual fundraiser for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance that sees teams of people who live with cerebral palsy and their loved ones climb all the way to the top. Georgia and her mum, Lou, tell us about their experience and what it means for a young person who lives with cerebral palsy to surmount a challenge like Mount Kosciuszko.
Living on Turtle Time
There’s a truly magical travel experience to be had in Bundaberg, Queensland: the miraculous first journey of tiny turtle hatchlings breaking free from their sandy cradle. Kerry Heaney tells us what it’s like to witness the wonder of new turtle life in person.
Tips & Tricks
We’ve got tips and tricks galore this issue: from the audiobooks you need to download, to travelling with a pacemaker, to safely enjoying the nightlife of a destination as a wheelchair user, and more.
Plus, inside you’ll find accessible accommodation reviews, all the latest news about accessible travel, and lots more stories from people with lived experience of travelling with disabilities to inspire your own adventures.
