For our two night stay in Geraldton, Western Australia we booked a two bedroom accessible apartment at Mantra Geraldton. The property is well located and within walking or wheeling distance to the beach, shopping and a good range of dining options. The accessible apartment wasn’t fancy but it offered all we needed for our short stay.

Mantra Geraldton apartment review
Mantra Geraldton is a little dated as a property but the location and facilities worked for our family. The spacious apartment offers two bedrooms, a lounge and dining area and kitchen.

Self-catering was made easy with a kitchen well equipped with a full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, oven and crockery. When a couple of us were vying for the kitchen we found the space tight so circulation space is limited and would be especially so for a wheelchair user.

The lounge area allowed us space to watch TV and relax when we weren’t out and about.

The master bedroom offers room on either side of the bed for transferring.

Bedroom facts – entry door 82cm, bed height 56cm, under bed clearance 12cm

Adjoining the master bedroom is a bathroom with a bath, shower and toilet.

The alternative bathroom is accessible and located close to the kitchen, dining room and second bedroom.

The second bedroom is more compact than the master.

An accessible bathroom offers a shower bench with height adjustable shower head and grab rails throughout.

Lever taps, grab rails and lowered towel rails are fitted in the bathroom.
Accessible bathroom facts – shower bench 46cm, toilet height to seat 49cm and to pan 45cm.

Undercover accessible parking is available at Mantra Geraldton though there wasn’t an accessible space outside our apartment. With the Kia Carnival’s sliding door we didn’t need the wider space on this occasion.

A pool and spa are available at Mantra Geraldton with step entry to both.

Mantra Geraldton Hotel doesn’t offer many bells and whistles but we were comfortable for our two night stay with the space and features we needed for two nights. As a stopover the accessible features were sufficient for our family. You can read more about Mantra Geraldton on their website.

The beach nearby offers good accessibility with beach matting and a beach wheelchair available to loan to use.
