When attending a function at Crown Hotel & Casino in Barangaroo, Sydney I happened to spot a Changing Places style of bathroom sign. It seemed the most unlikely place for a hoisted bathroom with adult-size change table but there it was. Always a welcome sight for those that need it and great to have a Changing Places style of bathroom in the popular dining and entertainment precinct of Sydney.
Crown Hotel & Casino Changing Places bathroom Barangaroo
The Barangaroo area has been growing in popularity and is well linked to Sydney’s CBD through the Wynyard Station tunnels and ferries that dock at its wharves. Barangaroo is also home to the Crown Hotel & Casino where there is a Changing Places style of bathroom.
Whether you agree or not with gambling it’s good to know that people with a disability that need a hoisted bathroom, or adult-size change table, can linger longer at the pokies, blackjack table or at the many restaurants at the Crown Hotel.
The bathroom facility is located on level 2 of the Crown Tower and requires a MLAK key to gain access. If you don’t have a MLAK, read more about how to get one in this blog.
Once inside, the bathroom is equipped with adult-size height adjustable change table, hoist and toilet with grab rails either side.
A privacy curtain can be used around the toilet if needed and the grab rails lift up to enable transferring.
There is no shower facility within this Changing Places style of bathroom.
Barangaroo Reserve
While in Barangaroo it is worth a little extra walk or wheel to go to Barangaroo Reserve for great views of the Harbour.
