I have discovered that access to an airport lounge certainly improves the travel process, particularly on long-haul flights which involve a connection. Recently I flew from Sydney, Australia to Chicago via Los Angeles and had the opportunity to visit the Qantas Business Class Lounge at LAX.
My stopover was a good chance for me to refresh and refuel before my onward domestic flight between Los Angeles and Chicago and of course, I’ve now got all the details to share a review. This lounge is shared by Qantas, British Airways and Cathay Pacific, so if you are travelling Business Class with any of these airlines, or hold a lounge pass, I’m sharing all the details about the Qantas Business Class Lounge at LAX.

Qantas Business Class Lounge LAX review
Arriving at Los Angeles Airport after clearing immigration I headed up to the Qantas Business Class Lounge located on level 5 of the Tom Bradley Terminal.

After a long-haul flight I have one thing on my mind and that’s a shower. I don’t know how I can feel so in need of a shower after simply sitting for 13 hours but a shower is always the pick me up I need to make the most of the day. On entering the lounge I made a beeline for the showers and thankfully there was one available for me to use.

There are many standard shower rooms available which I used for my shower but I was also given access to an accessible bathroom for the purposes of this review.

The accessible bathroom in the Qantas Business Class lounge at LAX offers lowered features, grab rails throughout, shower products and a shower bench with hand-held shower wand. It’s a spacious well-lit room with good circulation space for anyone using a mobility device and the bathrooms are kept incredibly clean between users.
After I’d had the chance to freshen up I was ready to refuel at the well-stocked buffet.

I’ve been fortunate to review several airline lounges in the last few years and I must say the spread that is provided at the Qantas Business Class Lounge at LAX is my favourite. While the variety is impressive, what I really love is the fresh and healthy offerings. And for gluten free and vegetarian travellers, you’ll be spoilt for choice, which, I’m told, is a rare situation.

Some of the gluten free salad offerings included, beet apple basil salad, chopped salad, soba noodle chicken salad, fennel & sweet potato salad and chilli pepper watermelon salad. Gluten free/friendly options also included, spanish tortilla with chicken, butter chicken curry, roasted pumpkin & roasted cauliflower. I was seriously impressed by the variety of options.

It’s also good to see fresh fruit available.

If you’re not on a health kick, never fear, there were some less health conscious options including french fries and spring rolls in the buffet line up.

As with most airport lounges, the self-serve drinks at the bar are at a difficult height for wheelchair users to access without assistance. Fortunately, friendly bar staff are on hand not only to assist if needed but to serve spirits or mixed drinks.

The lounge offers a variety of seating options including tables which are wheelchair accessible.

The Qantas Business Class Lounge design makes it easy to find a quiet corner which is exactly what I wanted to enjoy my pre-flight dinner and bubbles.
At a busy airport like LAX, I found the Qantas Business Class Lounge an oasis where I could freshen up with a shower, eat some tasty food and ready myself for the next leg of my travels.
I had access to the Qantas Business Class Lounge at LAX thanks to a successful bid for business class upgrade.
