Bonny Hills – Rainbow Beach

Last visited January 2013

Bonny Hills is about 20 minutes south of Port Macquarie town centre. Judging by the number of people on the beach the days we visited, not many of the tourists make the trip to Bonny Hills. Only about 60 people in the surf on a summer day in school holidays! Gorgeously quiet and yet you still have the safety of lifesavers on duty and the convenience of a beach wheelchair! There are trees that provide shade on the edge of the beach which means there is some respite from the middle of the day heat.

There are disabled parking spaces and a stand alone disabled toilet/change facility. Great food is also available at The Fat Fish restaurant just behind the beach.

Check out accessible accommodation in the area here.
