I know it’s some years later (and apologise that caps won’t turn off!). I’m wondering if anyone knows of any accessible playgrounds in Japan? Particularly in kyoto. I will be travelling there soon (i hope) and have not found anything about any yet.

Hi Julie,
Thanks so much for sharing the information about liberty swings and other great places for young people to enjoy themselves. We are refurbishing the old Rathmines RAAF Hospital/Nursing home and building up a portfolio of places where disabled young people and their families can have fun in the Lake Mac region, besides our local Rathmines park! You have given us great ideas and resources. Keep up the pressure on councils, whether for bubblers, signs, or more liberty swings – wheelies should be able to go just about anywhere these days! We are rather excited about opening our doors before the end of 2015, to groups of, or families with, disabled young ‘uns. They can spend the day or stay a week – they will be most welcome!
