Hi Julie
Yes we are in the process of organising travel insurance. We will hopefully get an answer by the end of January. Fingers crossed we get a yes.

Hi again Danielle, Have you checked that you can get travel insurance for an pre-existing conditions. I highly recommend you do that before booking and paying for anything. Medical costs in the US are prohibitive. Julie.

Thanks again I will definitely che k that out right now. I’m keeping such positive thoughts that will able to get there. There’s a few families over there we want to meet especially a family who have a little boy with the same condition as my son 🙂

Hi Danielle, We were always the same with managing the bath but not everyone can do that. I personally love the space of Desert Inn and Suites but the Carousel’s 3 room apartment may well work better for you. I know a family of 6 that had planned to stay there. Good luck with it. Disney is truly magical. Julie

Hi Julie
Thank you so much for getting back to me so quick.
With our so only being 6 and still being quite little and light a bath suits him just fine so that’s a better option for us. The only concern I had was having a fridge and microwave and it would be nice to cook some food haha but I e heard the hotels don’t have kitchenettes???? I thought that it might be Spring break so I’m hoping it’s not too crazy busy. I have a friend who lives an hour away from Disneyland so I can get info from her. I’ll definitely look up that hotel. Thanks for the info and the advice.

Hi Danielle, A trip to Disneyland is very exciting and April is a great time of year. My first piece of advice is to book early because April falls within the US Spring Break so accommodation gets booked early. In regards to accommodation I’m not sure I have the perfect answer for you. The Desert Inn & Suites only had a small bar fridge in the room we stayed in and it is the same in the accessible accommodation. I really liked how spacious the suite was and I’d imagine you could all fit in that comfortably but it only had a bath or shower. It depends if you could manage with a bath and a bar fridge. We have also stayed at the Carousel Hotel which is just a few hotels down the road, so equal distance to Disneyland. It has a 3 bedroom suite which may have a full size fridge. This won’t be a disabled accessible room but they have a lift so the bathroom would be the main issue. Take a look at their website also. Good luck with it and let me know if you need further help. Our Facebook community is very helpful. Kind regards, Julie

I have a severely disabled 6 yr old son who is completely wheelchair bound, non verbal, tube fed, cannot walk, doesn’t have a lot of head control etc.
we would need access to a fridge and microwave to store and heat up our sins feeds. And somewhere to store his endless supply of medications and feeding equipment.
I was wondering if you think the suite would be suitable for a family of 6? 3 adults, 1x 8 yr old 1x 3 yr old and 1x child with disability???? We are hoping to go to Disneyland in April 2016….
Thank you
Danielle
